Following changes to the Probate Fees in Maryland effective October 1, 2023, Small Estates no longer must pay any Probate Fee if the decedent died after October 1, 2023.
Regular Estates must pay a Probate Fee. The following Probate Fee schedule took effect on October 1, 2023 for decedents who died on October 1, 2023 or later:
$0 to less than $50,000 = $0
$50,000 to less than $100,000 = $100
$100,000 to less than $500,000 = $200
$500,000 to less than $1,000,000 = $1,000
$1,000,000 to less than $2,500,000 = $2,000
$2,500,000 to less than $5,000,000 = $5,000
$5,000,000 to less than $7,500,000 = $7,500
$7,500,000 to less than $10,000,000 = $10,000
$10,000,000 or more $10,000 plus .02% of excess over $10,000,000
